Texas' High School Graduation Rates Shine in National ComparisonIn a study released by the U.S. Department of Education, only Iowa posted a higher graduation rate than Texas for the Class of 2012. Texas, with a graduation rate of 88 percent, tied for second place with Nebraska, Vermont and Wisconsin. Mansfield ISD's graduation rate for the class of 2012 is 91%. (2013 Texas Academic Performance Report) In addition, the Texas Class of 2012 had the highest graduation rate in the country among African-American students and tied for the highest graduation rates for white and economically disadvantaged students. |

MISD Night at Globe Life Park in Arlington
Marlins vs. Rangers - Tuesday, June 10
In appreciation of all of your hard work throughout the school year, please join the Rangers during Mansfield ISD Night. The National Anthem will be performed by the Timberview High School Choir, and the ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by the winner of the MISD Education Foundation auction.
Tickets are available at a discounted price and the MISD Education Foundation Receives a portion of each ticket sold from the Foundation Office.
The Foundation is auctioning off the ceremonial first pitch (includes 4 tickets). Visit the Foundation's Facebook Page from May 29 - June 5 to view the current bid. All bids will need to be emailed to Lindabacsik@misdmail.org. Auction closes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 5. The last email received by 4:30 p.m. will be the winning bid. The Foundation office will notify winning bid by Friday June 6, 2014.

UTA teams with Mansfield ISD to pave way for more students to earn college degrees
The University of Texas at Arlington announced a new partnership with the Mansfield ISD for a major expansion of Bound for Success, the early admissions effort aimed at increasing the number of high school students who earn a college degree. The announcement and memorandum of understanding signing event was held Tuesday morning, May 27, 2014 at the Ben Barber Career and Technology Academy.
The Bound for Success partnership awards Mansfield ISD juniors at all high schools in the Top 20 percent of their class pre-admission to UT Arlington, contingent upon their completion of a college preparatory diploma. Read on...

Feed the Kids for Summer 2014 Common Ground Network Feed the Kids for Summer is a program that helps supplement food during the summer for students on the free/reduced breakfast and lunch program in Mansfield ISD. Each student can receive a bag of food containing nutritious food that can be prepared without the use of an oven or stove. The bags are distributed each week through the student's nearest food pantry.
The program operates June 4 - August 13. If you are interested in receiving this supplemental food, please contact your nearest food pantry. |
