House Bill 5 (commonly referred to as HB5) impacts many areas in
the Texas Education Code. The new law significantly changes the requirements for high school graduation, graduation planning and state testing requirements at all levels.
HB5 is designed to instill more flexibility in public education by enabling students to either pursue a traditional path into colleges and universities or move directly into the workforce to help fill what business leaders say is a critical skills shortage.
Students will be able to explore their individual interests as they prepare for higher education or the workforce.
Parents and students will hear more about HB5 in the coming weeks and months as Mansfield ISD prepares to meet the academic needs of each student.
As a part of our educational improvement planning, Mansfield ISD Administration is conducting its annual survey to gain important feedback on how you rate your child's education.
IMPORTANT: A separate survey should be completed for each child you have at a Mansfield ISD school. After submission, simply complete the survey again for any additional campuses.

Bad Weather Make-up Days Communications
Mansfield ISD will use the two bad weather make-up dates on the district calendar to account for two missed school days in December. Monday, February 17 and Friday, June 6 will be the two make-up dates following the school closures on December 6th and 9th due to icy road conditions.
Legacy HS: Congratulations to Christian Oldham and Thaddeus Brown, seniors at Legacy High School, for receiving appointments to the USAF Academy and the US Naval Academy, respectively.
