Dr. V Named Superintendent Lone Finalist
At the June 25, 2013 school board meeting, trustees unanimously voted in favor of naming Dr. Jim Vaszauskas the lone finalist for the district's Superintendent position.

The naming of Dr. Vaszauskas as lone finalist follows the School Board's process for selecting the next full-time Superintendent. The School Board secured an outside consultant to help determine the community's attitude on the direction of the district and to develop leadership characteristics desired in the next MISD Superintendent. At their May 28, 2013 regular meeting, trustees voted unanimously to forgo hiring an outside search firm and post the superintendent position for internal candidates only.

"I am honored the board has selected me as the lone finalist for the Superintendent's position and appreciate their confidence," said Dr. Vaszauskas. "We have a great leadership team in place and I look forward to working with our staff to help our students achieve. MISD is a wonderful community and I am honored to serve." Read more.
