The Impact Award was established to recognize individual staff members, departments, campuses or other employee groups that have promoted teamwork and unity by initiating a program or event that made a positive impact within Mansfield ISD and the community. Multi-Cultural Festival

Save the date to join us for the inaugural Mansfield ISD Multi-Cultural Festival on Saturday, April 6 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at The Center.  

 

Come and enjoy a wide array of activities, games, food, student showcases, performances, and more.

   

Everyone in the district community is invited to this free event. 

 

The Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts is located at 1110 W Debbie Lane, Mansfield, Texas 76063. 

Passport to Kindergarten - April 13

Will you or someone you know have a student entering Kindergarten next year?  

 

Be sure to mark your calendar for the Passport to Kindergarten event on Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

 

This event is an opportunity to complete your child's enrollment and registration process for the 2013-14 school year. Incoming kindergarten families will get valuable information on immunizations, nutrition, as well as tips and tools to prepare students before kindergarten starts. Don't miss this opportunity to get a jump on next year. Get the full details.

Computer Science students win big at UIL District meets

Mansfield ISD high schools competed March 22-23 in UIL academic district meets.

At the 4A district meet in Ennis on Friday, March 22, Legacy and Summit computer science students swept ALL the awards, got all the points, and took all the regional qualifying spots. At the 5A district meet in Grand Prairie on Saturday, March 23, Timberview and Mansfield students did almost as well, winning 1st-3rd and 6th on written (only letting 4th and 5th place on the written go to other schools) and also placing as the top two teams.

Congratulations to these computer science students for the overwhelming success of ALL teams sweeping all awards and TEAMS making it to regional competition!

Rising Stars Discovery Camp (June 17-27, M-Th, 8-11 a.m.)  

Rising Stars Discovery Camp is a fun, exciting introduction to just a few of the unique courses offered at Ben Barber Career and Technology Academy. This summer program is available exclusively to Mansfield ISD students entering 5th, 6th, and 7th grades in the 2013-14 school year. Get details and registration info.   

  

Summer Science Camp (June 17-21, M-F, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) Gifted/Talented Specialists from across the district have come together to create an engaging, hands-on science curriculum with an in-depth study of water. MISD students who have completed grades K-3 are eligible for science camp.  Get details and registration info.   

PSAT/SAT/ACT Summer Institute 

Students who are college bound and who have completed the 8th grade are encouraged to attend PSAT/SAT/ACT Summer institute. The institute is three weeks of preparation for college entrance exams. Get details and registration info. 

Odds & Ends 

  

Daulton and Spencer Elementary parents are invited to participate in the Attendance Zone process to address Daulton Elementary overcrowding. Daulton/Spencer Parent Meetings April 11 and 18.

District Track Meet: All Middle Schools District Track Meet is being held Thursday, April 4 - Saturday, April 6. Get the event schedule.

Athletics: The Athletics Department announces a Hall of Honor to recognize the efforts and contributions of former student-athletes, coaches/athletic administrators, teams, and distinguished volunteers who have brought honor and excellence to MISD.

Graduations: Get the full Mansfield ISD 2013 graduation weekend schedule (June 7-9 at The MISD Center for the Performing Arts).

Toothbrush Donations: The Mansfield ISD community donated 14,559 toothbrushes for the Cook Children's Drive for a Smile toothbrush drive. The Drive for Smile toothbrush drive is designed to put a toothbrush in the hands of children from low income families who do not have one. The schools did a phenomenal job - Legacy High brought in the most at 5,459 - Mansfield High was next with 2,081 and Elizabeth Smith Elementary came in third with 1,013. That's something to smile about!
