Spring has sprung early this year!
Especially in Washington D.C. where we visited last week as part of a delegation from the South Shore Chamber of Commerce. About a dozen business owners and leaders met with our local MA delegation in their offices to discuss issues facing the South Shore region from attracting new businesses to promoting Plymouth's upcoming 400th anniversary in 2020. We were delighted to attend the reception hosted by the New England Council with the entire New England Delegation. You can catch us in a few photos here.
We also spent a morning at the US Chamber of Commerce getting some briefings on some key topics, a brief meeting with President and CEO Tom Donohue and an opportunity to attend the Capital Markets Summit with it's fantastic line up of speakers. Many of whom we got to speak with one on one after their talks.
Back on the home front, we are excited to be launching a new website by the end of this week and invite you to take a visit. Plus, we will be hosting two workshops:
Spring is a great time to dust off or create your financial plan while you have all your tax info fresh in you mind. If you need some assistance, give us a shout. We'd love to hear from you.
Cheers,

Swinging for the Fences
Spring is in the air! Can you feel it? A few signs of spring coming include Punxsutawney Phil on Groundhog Day, the president releasing his annual budget and the Red Sox "Truck Day." Feb. 10 was the day the equipment truck left Fenway for Florida to get the team ready for spring training.
Recently, President Obama released his fiscal year 2017 budget - his final budget proposal. The president has included many of the same proposals from last year in this year's budget.
The president's budget is really more of a political statement than anything else. President Obama's administration is quickly approaching "the bottom of the ninth;" you can be sure he's going to swing for the fences before his time in office is up.
Given that this is an election year with less than 12 months to the end of President Obama's term, there is little likelihood that many of the president's "requests" will actually come to pass. However, the president's budget proposals do provide an indication of what's "in the pipeline," including loopholes that could appear in future legislation. Last year's proposal included the elimination of Social Security's "file and suspend" and it happened.
Here are a few highlights that we thought would have most impact to general public.
