Resolutions, mantras for 2013

 

During this time of year, many of us like to make resolutions. A resolution is a firm decision to do or not to do something. These personal promises make fascinating conversational topics. Forty-five percent of Americans make New Year's resolutions. On the flip side, 38 percent of Americans refuse to make any. Seventy-one percent of those who make a resolution stick with them for only two weeks.

 

It's said that Julius Caesar started the tradition of making resolutions January 1 as a way to honor the Roman mythical god Janus, whose two faces allowed him to look back into the past year and forward to the new year.

 

Every January, I like to make two resolutions: one personal and one business related. The first is a brief mantra as a reminder to keep me balanced. My second resolution is business focused. Let me share my 2013 resolutions.
