Greetings!

The Delta County Chamber of Commerce encourages our members to buy local. There are plenty of opportunities to do so.

Tonight, It's Black Friday on Tuesday in Escanaba Downtown! Get to downtown and enjoy limo rides and specials in stores and restaurants from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. You will have the opportunity to win a Kindle Fire compliments of Delta County Credit Union. While there, enjoy the tree lighting at 7 p.m. along with carriage rides, hot chocolate and cookies. For more information read more on our "Escanaba's Black Tuesday" article presented by UPCARS.COM.

Saturday is national buy local day so head to your small businesses and buy buy buy. Downtown Escanaba has published their business hours for the holidays.

Beginning this weekend stores will be open until 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 p.m.-4 p.m on Sundays.

For the Christmas Parade on December 7th stores will be open until 8 p.m.

December 17th-21st stores will be open until 7 p.m.

The Chamber of Commerce continues to find resourceful ways to use electronic communication channels to better serve our Members and enhance their presence in our community. As our "Email Blasts" have become a popular way to communicate events, sales, and more to our community, it is evident that during certain times of the year, they can overwhelm an email inbox. The Chamber's goal is to provide efficient communication about our members while maintaining quality customer service.

Therefore, along with our "Fast Facts" emails that are sent out Monday, you will also find the Email Blast Magazine. This magazine is a weekly compilation of all the Email blasts pertaining to that week that include offers, discounts, community event information and much more. If you have an email blast planned, please schedule accordingly as we will begin this process next week. Deadline for submission is Monday at 12:00 PM.

Our Shorelines electronic newsletter will continue to be sent out on Tuesdays. This is a member benefit, and we encourage you to add your staff to our emailing list. We want to spread the good news about our community.

Please let us know what you think about these new changes. Send your thoughts to info@deltami.org or give us a call (906) 786 2192.
Let someone else do the cooking. Relax and enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at one of our Chamber member restaurants.

Water's Edge Chiropractic invites you the Gladstone Turkey Trot 5K Run or Walk Thursday, November 22, 2012. Canned good and donations will be accepted as the entry fee. The run is organized by Dan Paul and all proceeds go to the Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul. The annual run has attracted beginner and seasoned runners to come out during a day when everyone is trying to make room for a great meal. Each runner contributes nonperishable food items and enjoys a nice 5 K run or walk.

"We want people to participate and know their run is for a good cause. More important, their contributions stay here in Delta County," explained Dan Paul, event organizer . "This is something that benefits the community for both the participant and those in need, every year, year after year. Let's support our community." He concluded.

The race will begin at 9: 00 a.m with registration starting at 8:00 a.m at the Gladstone Senior Center. The annual event will provide commemorative ribbons to all participants and T-shirts will be available for $15 whiles supplies last.

Dr. Patrick Johnson from Water's Edge Chiropractic has been running the Turkey Trot for a few years now. "This is a great event to get your body moving before all those calories hit it from the Thanksgiving Feast," explains Dr. Johnson, "and hopefully this event gets people moving through the holidays and into a New Year's resolution," he added.

For more information contact Dan Paul at 906 428 4457 or email: DanPaul70@gmail.com Registration forms are available at Water's Edge Chiropractic: 922 Delta Avenue, Gladstone, MI.(906) 428-9076

Dave Rudolf Family Christmas Show Returns to Bay College

Brace yourself for a truly fun, interactive Family Christmas show as Dave Rudolf returns to Bay College! Want to see your kids on stage? Dave loves to get the audience involved. Whether on stage being the rhythm section for "Twas the Night before Christmas," hula dancing to "Christmas Island," batting the snowball beach balls in the audience, or listening to Christmas parodies such as "Frosty the Slowman," "Oh Come, Oh Come I Read the Manual," both you and your kids will have a blast.

Don't worry parents; this is no snooze inducing kid show for you either. Dave throws in stuff geared for you as well, such as performing "Old McDonald on the Farm" as Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Jewel might sing it. Come catch the 15 time nominated National Association of Campus Activities Award winner, Disney writer, Gold Record, Grammy nominated Goof, singing tunes that have been featured on such diverse Radio programs as Kids Radio, Dr. Demento, NPR, WXRT, and more. You'll hear some interactive tunes, some crazy tunes, some very funny tunes, and some holiday tunes all mixed in with sound effects and props--- What could be more fun? And festive? Whatever it is it will be great fun! So get in the Christmas mood with your kids, and by the way, bring a camera!

Sponsored by the Bay College Campus Activities Board, Dave Rudolf's Christmas Kids Show is Thursday, November 29 at 6:30 PM in the Heirman University Center. Admission is free, although the donation of a new toy to charity is encouraged.
The Northern Lights YMCA is making it easy to stay in shape during the holidays. Join the YMCA from Friday November 23rd through Sunday November 25th and the YMCA will waive your new member fee, saving you up to $95! They will also bonus you with 2 free sessions of personal training with their certified staff. And finally, there is no monthly payment until January 2013.

Along with the savings, the YMCA wants to give you a taste of 4 different workouts this Thursday, November 22nd from 9-10 a.m. Anyone can try the 1 hour class in which the participant will enjoy 4 different types of workouts. The participation is free but participants are encouraged to bring two non-perishable food items to be given to a local food bank. This is a great event to check out the different classes provided by the YMCA, and get moving before the big Thanksgiving dinner.

For more information please call the YMCA at 906 789 0005 or email aracine@ymcadelta.org.
