Say It With Stucco!
| Our new model has a flat stucco finish with scribed bands (lines) at and above the windows for a more contemporary look. |
Stucco is so versatile, durable and weather resistant. Indoors or outdoors, it can add color, character and texture to a new Towles home. It easily can cover construction materials such as metal, concrete or cinder block that are primary to the building but not very eye-catching.
If you're already living in a Towles

Stucco "brick" finished for
an old world look
|
home and thinking of giving a face-lift to a room or the entire house, stucco can change the very vibe of what you're living in. That brick work that adds depth to your kitchen? It's stucco, not bricks.
Something new that can be used to upgrade your home is synthetic stucco on ceilings and soffits.

Coquina shell finish
on exterior wall

Throw in some crushed oyster shells - an increasingly popular material - and you have something artistic as well as decorative. Stone and glass chips also can be mixed in with the finish coat.
Let's clear up what may be a misconception. Stucco is not structural. It is purely decorative. It's mud. It's made of and lime, sand and water. Simple but it works. It is usually applied in three coats with plastic or wire mesh installed to give the first coat something to attach to and add strength. The second coat is thinner and can be applied more quickly. The final coat is where the color and texture are added, providing a smooth, granular or faux material finish.
