Although Quartz is very popular at this time I am still  a fan of Granite. Each piece of granite is unique and no one else in the world will have it. I look at each slab as a work of art and like art it varies in price.

Granite can be heavily grained (see above) with a variety of colors and a lot of movement or be more subtle in color and the pattern smaller and less vibrant (photo below). Your choice depends on how it fits with your cabinetry. Is the grain of the wood mild (like maple)? Then go for drama in the granite. Are the cabinets very grainy (like oak)? Then select a stone that has a more static pattern.

Vetrazzo is what is new and hip in the industry.    It is comprised of 100% recycled glass and has undeniable sparkle. Fabricated from the basic recycled glass that you would find in your recycle bin, this product is very popular with customers concerned with the environment. Vetrazzo is comparable to granite in strength, is scratch resistance and heat resistance, and is durable and easy to maintain.

A trip to SunMAC's warehouse will get you started in selecting which type of stone. After a template is made, the expertly crafted product will be installed within seven to ten days.
