The Back Pack Kidz program, sponsored by PGI Civic Association's
"Ya Ya Girls", provides elementary school children, who qualify, with a back pack of food to help bridge the gap over weekends.
The Back Pack Kidz program serves 1,500 students in 7 schools in Charlotte County. There are plans to expand to all county schools. Hunger among our children is an urgent concern that the PGICA Beyond Ourselves Club cares about deeply.
A new feature for the tour this year will be the sponsorship of the Isles Yacht Club. They have graciously offered to host the tour on February 15. Participants will be able to buy tickets, pick up their programs and have lunch, all at the Isles Yacht Club. A substantial part of the lunch price will be going to our efforts to help Cooper Street and the Back Pack Kidz.

It seems that weather is always a primary topic of conversation, but especially so here in SW Florida. Is it because we can't help boasting about our fabulous weather? Even when it's chilly, it's nothing compared to the freezing weather and storms they're getting "Up North" and ...we don't have to shovel sunshine!
Having been raised right here in Charlotte County, my snow days have been limited to brief visits and, I must say, I really enjoy warmer climates...even when I take vacations they seem to be "beachy".
Hope you're keeping warm and letting your friends and family know how great it is to winter (and live) in sunny Florida!
