Anatomy of a Million Dollar Home
Kitchen Appliances
A well appointed kitchen is the hallmark of extraordinary homes and usually at the top of the list for our clients. Whether the kitchen is used by one person, a couple, a family, caterers or is just included for "resale value" it is usually the central focus of the home.
In today's world, with open floor plans, home life traditionally centers on the kitchen. Fine features like custom cabinets, stone countertops and an array of built-ins are all backdrops for kitchen "bling"...the appliances.
Items like 6 burner gas ranges, convection oven combinations, built in refrigerators with separate built in freezers (either next to each other or located in different areas), cooktops, under counter microwave ovens, built-in coffee centers, wine coolers, warming drawers, drawer dishwashers, under counter mini fridges and the list goes on...and on!
And don't forget the range hoods! Just within that category the list is endless for both design (stainless steel vs mechanicals installed with custom surrounds that match or contrast with the cabinetry) and power.
In a standard home the price of the appliance package is usually in the range of $3500 - $5000. For upscale appliances $30,000 (and more, depending on choices) may be the norm. And that's just for the main kitchen. Many homes are including breakfast bars (with coffee makers & mini fridges) in the master suite. And let's not forget the poolside summer kitchen - complete with gas cooker, fridge and warming drawer.
If you're considering a home in this category, be sure that your contractor and his appliance subcontractor are well aware at the start of the project of the quality and variety of appliances that you desire. It will make an impact not only on price, but on the design of space and the mechanicals that will be needed to accommodate your choices.

And now a word from our homeowners...
"When we started looking for a quality home builder to construct our new home at Punta Gorda Isles, we knew what kind of builder we wanted. Since I am also a builder who has built over 1000 homes in Plymouth, MA, I knew that TowlesCorp was the company we wanted after viewing various homes they had built in the Isles.
I spoke with both Tim and Keith Towles and knew they could do the kind of job I wanted with the best craftsmen in the trades. The job was always under control by Keith and his Foreman Fred and they got the home completed on time.
My wife and I are very happy with our home and are proud to show it to any future TowlesCorp customers. We thank the whole TowlesCorp staff for a great job well done." Ron & Rollene Ferioli
