"I'm thinking of having a new home built. I've heard of Manabloc Plumbing Systems but would like more information about how they work."

The best way to describe the Manabloc Plumbing System is to relate it to something we're all familiar with...the electrical breaker box. The Manabloc is to water distribution as the electrical panel is to the distribution of electricity to the whole house. Water enters the Manabloc panel from the main feed and then, by a series of flexible tubing (red for hot, blue for cold) is sent directly to various fixtures in the house. Each of the tubes has a shut-off valve (like breakers in the electrical panel), which in an emergency can shut off the water flow at the Manabloc panel box.
In standard rigid copper tubing systems, many fittings are needed to piece together lengths of copper - each fitting offering a potential problem for future leaks. With Manabloc flexible tubing, lengths are almost endless and can be run from the panel to the fixture without a break.

In a cost analysis of the two processes, the Manabloc system usually will be less than the copper alternative. Plus, the benefits of the Manabloc, including warranties, certainly outweigh the older systems.
