And now a word from our Homeowners...
Steve & Shelley Cors
| The deep recessed lighted tray adds additional height to this kitchen which has ivory painted wood wall and base cabinets with contrasting dark stained wood cabinets for the island and range hood. The pot filler faucet above the five burner gas range brings water to the cooktop without the need to carry heavy vessels across the room. |

The Cors home is in a prime viewing location for the Christmas Boat Parade. The 65 guests at last year's party can attest to not only the view but also to the wonderful food that Shelley prepares in her beautiful chef's kitchen.
Shelley's response to her favorite part of her home... "While the house abounds in beautiful custom details, the kitchen is my favorite place. I love to cook Italian recipes and enjoy serving them to my family and friends."
"Working with Keith was an awesome experience! Any issues that arose were immediately addressed and rectified. We would highly recommend Keith Towles to anyone building a new home. As a matter of fact, my husband likes to tell everyone that he is a true "disciple" of TowlesCorp!"

Ask Keith...
What should I be looking for when designing my new kitchen?
It doesn't matter which room you're working on, the main point of a good cabinet plan is the floor plan itself. Designers will tell you that "form follows function". That means that the function of the area is the prime target. After a great plan is drawn up, then you can choose colors, styles and materials.
If there is more than one person using the space (kitchen or bath) then accomodations need to be considered for the tasks each will be performing. Another consideration is the age, height or physical ability of each user. Someone that is petite will need a lower countertop than a tall spouse. The area should not totally conform to one individual, but should allow for work areas for their specific use. In that way, it will appeal to a variety of people and resale value will be maintained.
Once the plan is completed the choice of materials and colors should also follow the "function first" idea. Certain materials respond best to specific environments. A good cabinet company or designer will guide you to the correct choice. Then it's a matter of color, stain and door style. That's the fun part! But even then some thought should be given to function. A door style with an ornate profile will be more difficult to keep clean than a simple Shaker style. Some colors may expand the size of a small room, while others could give a cozy feel to a large space. And, of course, don't forget all the whistles and bells (built-in accessories) that are available to keep everything in order and make the most of storage space.
