Five Tips for New Teachers

From Georgia's Teacher of the Year

Amanda Milliner, Georgia's 2014 Teacher of the Year

At the Get Georgia Reading campaign, GPB's Rosemary Jean-Louis met Georgia's 2014 teacher of the year, Amanda Milliner.

She is a poised, intelligent, and energetic woman who is very passionate about students. As the state's top teacher, she has some good advice for new instructors. So, we asked her to share five tips for new teachers; she was gracious enough to provide these.

You can read Amanda's advice in our blog post, Five Tips for New Teachers from Georgia's Teacher of the Year.

Coming Soon: A Higher Law -
Martin Luther King during the march on washington
an entertaining and informative documentary that traces the origins of the Civil Rights Movement in the Fifties and Sixties, with particular focus on the impact that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had on the evolution of the movement. Featuring archive visual material, and interviews with such luminaries as Ambassador Andrew J. Young, the documentary also contrasts the human rights issues of that historic era with the modern-day scourge of human trafficking. "A Higher Law" is designed to serve as a valuable educational tool for high school and college students, and will be available to view on demand online in the Fall of 2014.
