January 2014

Education Matters

What's New
It's a new year
... sort of.  In education, the year starts in July and ends around May/ June.  January is more like mid-year in our world.  But, it's a season of new resolutions, which may have reached to your classroom.  If that's the case, we'd love to help you reach your goals.  Want to include more Georgia content?  We've got that.  Need real-life examples to make content relevant?  We can fill that space, too.

With great programming like Georgia Traveler, Georgia Outdoors, and legacy programs like Georgia Stories, we're showing students opportunities for growth, beginning in their own backyards.  New programs like Fast Forward demonstrate the career potential for students who stay the course and finish high school.  There's a wide variety of jobs right here that are more than just a paycheck!

If you're looking for engaging content, check out our online resources by grade level.  Need more?  Let us know how to help make 2013-2014 a great year for education in Georgia!

On the Story
On the Story is a new broadcast news show whose mission is to tell the whole story on issues in our state and tell the stories of Georgia's talented, achieving, and engaging citizens.  It's a great place for content on current events to share with students.  The show begins this month and will air Monday - Thursday @7pm
