Season 2 of Fast Forward is rolling out new episodes! Demonstrate the relevance of classwork with these Career Education short videos designed for middle and high school students. Students may be surprised to learn about the STEM subjects needed to work at this white water rafting company!
Peg + Cat This series is designed to engage preschool children and teach them how to solve math-based problems with Peg, a chatty and tenacious five year-old, her feline pal, Cat, and her smart, cool friend Ramone. Series premieres Monday, October 7 at 8 am with a one hour special. Airs weekdays at 8:30 am and 1 pm.
Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle "Truth, Justice, and the American Way (1938-1958)" Join host and narrator Liev Schreiber to explore the dawn of the comic book genre and trace the evolution of the characters and their ongoing cultural impact worldwide. October 15 at 8 pm.
New Georgia Outdoors Episode "Wild Cumberland" explores the habitat and history of Georgia's largest barrier island. From nesting loggerheads to digging clams on the beach, it is a program full of beauty, fun, and a fascinating look at the past. October 20 at 7:30 pm. The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross This series chronicles the full sweep of African American history, from the origins of slavery on the African continent through five centuries of historic events right up to present day -- when America has a black President, yet remains a nation deeply divided by race. Premieres October 22 at 8 pm and continues each Tuesday through mid-November.
Chattahoochee Unplugged Documentary focusing on the planning, development, creation, and opening of the "longest urban whitewater course in the world" in Columbus, Georgia. Premieres Tuesday, October 22 at 9 pm.
Georgia Traveler From driving tanks and crushing some old cars at Tank Town USA in Morganton to a culinary tour in Augusta and on to history and beauty of the University of Georgia in Athens and a lot more in between, Georgia Traveler's 7th season is packed with fun and learning. October 27th @ 7:00 pm.
War of the Worlds: American Experience With the CBS radio broadcast of Orson Welles' "War of the Worlds" serving as its narrative spine, the film examines the elements that together created one of the biggest mass hysteria events in U.S. history. Premieres Tuesday, October 29 at 9 pm.

October is Farm-to-School MonthGeorgia Organics is introducing Lettuce Try It!, encouraging students to - you guessed it - try lettuce! Schools can sign up to receive resources including "How to Host a Lettuce Taste Test" and lesson plans for students from preschool through high school.
GPB's Stop the Drop Video Contest is back and open to all high school students. We're looking for 30-second, student-made videos that demonstrate the importance of staying in school. You can see the full list of rules online.
