We reorganized our site to help give you what you need quickly

 

When you visit gpb.org/education, you'll see that it's easier to find your favorite resources and services.  The left-hand navigation panel is organized by topic and grade level.  Using the letter guide, you can quickly determine which program is best for your age group.  If you see a program that you're unfamiliar with, simply click on the link to learn more about it.

Constitution Day Resource
September 17 is Constitution Day.  Its My Constitution is a lively, educational video that provides an entertaining overview of this founding document, and its importance to us today.

On-Air on GPB
The March chronicles the events leading up to the historic March on Washington for jobs and freedom in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the event. Airs Tuesday, August 27 at 9 p.m.  Get preview clips from PBS Learning Media.  
     
EarthFlight, a Nature Special Presentation This series is a breathtaking voyage with the world's birds, soaring across six continents, witnessing spectacular animal migrations and great natural wonders. Airs Wednesday, September 4 at 8 p.m. and continues throughout the month.

Hispanic Heritage Month Special  
Latino Americans  The first Spanish explorers in North America and the U.S. expansion in the Southwest are examined. Series premieres Tuesday, September 17th at 9 p.m. and continues the following Tuesday at 9 p.m.

Learning Media The Detective's Notebook  

Login* to PBS Learning Media for the online activity Blue Ribbon Readers: The Detective's Notebook Game for grades K-5.  The game works on the concept "Drawing Inferences" using a teacher-selected mystery book.  This game integrates scientific process, reading comprehension, technology, even social studies if you choose a non-fiction story.   

 

PBS Learning Media has a lesson plan for grades 6-12 for Choosing a STEM Career that combines video clips and prepared websites for students to explore career trends in the STEM fields.

YOU'RE INVITED TO A TAPING OF THE IGNITE SHOW
The Ignite Show Live needs you in the audience on September 6! The National Network of State Teachers of the Year (NNSTOY) in partnership with The Hunt Institute is sponsoring four special episodes of The Ignite Show focusing on the Common Core State Standards(CCSS). Britannica Online is offering webinars for teachers for CCGPS Tools for Georgia K-12 Schools on September 10-12Britannica School is provided free of charge to all Georgia schools thanks to the Georgia Department of Education and GALILEO.  Register by grade level: Elementary, Middle school, High school.

The Georgia Council for the Social Studies annual conference is scheduled for October 17 and 18 at the Classic Center in Athens.  In addition to keynote speakers and the awards luncheon, there will be 90 concurrent sessions for elementary, middle, high school and college students to attend.  Register online.

GPB's Stop the Drop Video Contest is back and open to all high school students.  We're looking for 30-second, student-made videos that demonstrate the importance of staying in school.  You can see the full list of rules online.
