This year, two lucky schools will win the Ultimate Cool School Sweepstakes - one from grades K-3 and one from grades 4-6. Each school will experience a thrilling hands-on science assembly at their school that is fun and interactive, but also underscores the importance of science literacy.

PBS NewsHour Call for Nominations for Creative Math or Science Teachers 
NewsHour is working on an upcoming series that will highlight science and math teachers across the country who are using innovative teaching methods in the classroom. To nominate a teacher to participate in the program, fill out this application form

  

Explore the Water Challenge 
The Challenge encourages students to identify and research a local water-related issue, develop and implement an action plan that creates positive change and showcase their project by creating and submitting a short video.  The deadline is March 15.

Design Squad Challenge
Become a Top Builder! Design an air-powered balloon car that can zip across the floor.  You can use all kinds of materials for your balloon car's body, axles, and wheels.  Enter the Top Builder: Balloon Car Challenge by submitting a photo of your design using the form below on or before March 13, 2013.

The Google Science Fair is an online science competition open to students ages 13-18 from around the globe. They are looking for ideas that will change the world. To get started, all you'll need is a Google account. The deadline is April 30, 2013.
