Do you want to:
- Lose weight?
- Have better skin?
- Sleep better?
- Lower blood pressure?
- Enhance your relationships?
Dr. Michael Breus, aka the
"Sleep Doctor" claims that
sleeping in your birthday suit can give you these benefits and more.
Right now,
only 12% of our population partake, but perhaps more should give it a try.

First,
melt off the fat while you snooze. By sleeping naked, it
lowers the core body temperature. This leads to the production of
brown fat which burns calories and can burn fat. Conversely, the more prevalent
white fat (not so good for you....) is the result of storing excess calories.
Sleeping without the interference of clothing may also helps
skin breathe thereby opening pores leading to healthier skin.
Cooler environments stimulate the
production of melatonin which promotes more sound sleep.
Of course, sometimes we have more of a desire
not to sleep while we are in bed as we experience
skin-to-skin contact with our significant other. This can lead to reduction of
cortisol (our stress hormone) while stimulating the production of
oxytocin, (the affectionately known
"cuddling hormone.") Warning--this can also lead to other things that may result in
less sleep temporarily but more
sound sleep for remainder of the night:). Dr. Breus recommends
lowering that thermostat to about 65 degrees and taking off as much as one can be comfortable in before climbing into bed.
Sleep on it and let me know what you think--.
