 It's Time To Clean Out Those Pipes    

        

It's that time of year again.  "You can lose all the weight you want," or "Try the new Skinny Pill," or even "Lose 25 pounds in 2 weeks." The sheer volume of weight loss commercials and ads are dizzying.  Yes, perhaps many of us indulged a little more than we should have over the holidays and we recognize that it is time to shed that extra layer.  

 

However, it's not just about losing weight, it's about purging ourselves of the toxins that are trapped inside our bodies first.  Once we do this, our bodies will function the way they are meant to without the interference of foreign chemicals holding it back.   Then, it will bring our bodies to its natural state of homeostasis and to a weight where we should be. 

 

In fact, this is exactly what my grandmother and great grandmother did on a regular basis.  Just like serving chicken soup for colds or flu, our older generations seemed to know the most natural ways to bring their bodies back to balance.  Grandma Altman used to cleanse about every quarter where she would fast for a few days drinking only hot water and lemon.  She knew that cleansing the body is an important step in natural healing.  However, today we have far more toxins and processed foods that our bodies are not designed to handle.  Therefore, it is more important than ever that we periodically cleanse so our organs can optimally function the way they were designed to.
