Let Us HEALTH You Quick Tips

It's So Much More Than Just For Tea

Most of us have used honey in our tea before, but did you know that it can clear up acne or help heal an open wound?

Yup, honey has amazing antibacterial and healing properties.  As a matter of fact, honey has been used for its healing properties for thousands of years dating back to the time of the Ancient Greeks. Leading up to the second world war, honey was being used for its antibacterial properties in treating wounds.

There is even a term called Apitherapy, which is the treatment using honey.  This includes replenishing energy, enhancing physical stamina and improving immune syst
honeyems. Honey also is considered to have a calming effect on the mind and promotes sleep. Honey also helps indigestion and has sometimes been used to treat cardiovascular disease and respiratory complaints. A thin coat of honey can be applied on the skin to disinfect and heal minor skin wounds and chapped lips.

Check out these other remedies using honey
:

HEART DISEASES: Apply honey on bread instead of using jam or butter and eat it regularly for breakfast.

ARTHRITIS: Apply a paste made of honey and cinnamon on the affected part of the body and massage slowly.

OPEN WOUND:  Apply honey to inside of band aid with honey and then attach to any opening in the skin

HAIR LOSS: Apply a paste of hot olive oil, a tablespoon of honey, a teaspoon of cinnamon powder before bath, leave it for 15 min and wash.

BLADDER INFECTIONS: Mix honey and cinnamon powder in a glass of lukewarm water and drink.

TOOTHACHE: Apply a paste of honey and cinnamon powder and then on the aching tooth.

ULCERS and GASTROINTESTINAL ISSUES: Take 1 teaspoon of honey prior to meals.

INDIGESTION: A spoonful of Natural honey taken before food relieves acidity.

PIMPLES: Mix honey with cinnamon powder and apply paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash away the next morning.

WEIGHT LOSS: Take 1 teaspoon of Natural honey prior to bed as it is believed to be able to fuel the liver, speed up fat-burning metabolism, ease stress hormones and help us get a better night's sleep.

Now that you all want to run out and get honey, bee-ware of what you buy.  I only buy 2 types of honey.  I only buy local honey from my health food store or farms and Manuka honey.  The reason I only trust local honey is that China is notorious for exporting tainted honey containing lead.

Manuka honey
is delicious, though not necessarily the honey you want for your every day tea being more medicinal and quite expensive.  However, it is the purest, most potent honey you can buy.  Its antimicrobial properties are so high that it has even been used successfully to treat MRSA, the staph infection in hospitals that has become so problematic as it is antibiotic resistant.  Manuka honey is the most healing honey for gastro-intestinal disorders and skin infections.  It even has its own quality trademark called a UMF (Unique Manuka Factor).  I recommend only buying a UMF grade of 16 or higher.

Who knew healing could taste so good!
