With the trees budding and flowers blooming, Mike and I were among many of us this past weekend cleaning off our decks, patio furniture and yards. While we readily see the outdoor climate change from season to season, we sometimes don't realize that our bodies go through changes as well. When we are feeling fatigued and bloated, that may indicate that our system, or our own pipes, are dirty and clogged and we need to do "Spring Cleaning" of our own. In Let Us HEALTH You Matters we will talk about why cleansing can help renew ourselves and make us feel great. Please check out Let Us HEALTH You Recipes with our Quinoa Tabbouleh as one of the dinners recommended for the 3-day cleanse. Spring Cleaning
Spring. It's my favorite time of year where everything seems to wake up. Kids are starting to show up on the streets on their bikes amidst a cornucopia of flowers and trees with their vibrant colors and wonderful scents. The birds are coming out in full force chirping their songs flying in and out of budding trees. Yet, it is also that time of year when we realize that we will soon we will be putting on those shorts and hoping we can button them. We are also looking for ways to wake ourselves up after the long winter coma and snap out of feeling bloat and fatigue and even sad feelings and depression.
Many of us suffer from these symptoms but don't realize the answer could be as simple as cleaning out our system. Pipes in the bathroom gather hair and gunk which clog the pipes or cause slow drainage. We have all experienced that slow sink where it takes forever for the water to go down the drain. Using a hanger or Drano to clear the blockages usually solves that problem to make things move quickly again. Well, our colon is no different. Overindulgence in processed foods that our bodies don't know how to digest end up sticking to and fermenting in our colon. Eventually we have layers of this buildup which causes our pipes to narrow and make it more difficult to get food digested and eliminate waste. Furthermore, overuse of antibiotics causes an imbalance in our intestinal flora resulting in an overgrowth of bad bacteria which hinder the production of serotonin.
This is just the beginning of how toxins end up staying in your colon and wreak havoc in your gut. Some people are so clogged up that despite eating well, they suffer from malnutrition as nothing can be absorbed. You are what you digest, but also what you don't eliminate. As a result, the colon is certainly a secret source of disease. As you can see, it is critical that you eliminate often. No, that doesn't mean twice a week, that means twice per day, to keep the bad stuff out and the good stuff in. In addition, keep in mind that your gut is your "Second Brain." It is where serotonin (your feel-good neurotransmitter) is produced. If serotonin falls off due to a toxic or compromised gut, it can produce depression or anxiety or other mood disorders.
Therefore, an important step in our Spring Cleaning goals should be to clean out our own pipes. We can do this a few different ways. First, we can alter our diet and decrease processed foods and sugar, and then add fiber such as in raw green veggies, fruit and oat bran. It is also crucial to drink plenty of water because the kidneys cannot perform adequately without sufficient water intake. The rule of thumb is to drink 1/2 oz for every pound of body weight (that's 60 oz. per day for someone who weighs 120 lbs).
The Spring Detox Guide is a great cleanse based solely on detoxifying food that will jump start your Spring Cleaning goals. It is simple and anyone can do it. I will be starting this
3-Day Spring Detox Cleanse on Monday, April 29th and I invite you to join me. I look forward to hearing how easy it is to do and how great you will feel after the third day. Of course, 3 days is a good start, but if you want to get the "Drano effect" to really chi p away at the build up inside your colon, try Colonix I discovered that Dr. Natura's Colonix 30-day cleanse found here on Amazon.com does an amazing job. People have incredible results clearing up anything from acne to eczema to sinus infections to allergies to sleep problems and even mood disorders and more. As the toxins are eliminated, so goes the fatigue and bloat as well. Remember, clean out those pipes as everything starts in the gut. If you take care of your gut, it will take care of you. If you have any issues you would like to discuss, please feel free to contact me for a free initial consultation so you can Let Us HEALTH You. What do you think? Let's have a conversation on |
