Let Us HEALTH You Quick Tips

 Habits of Healthy People

There are people you know, friends, family members or colleagues who never seem to get sick. They never seem to catch the flu or even a cold.  Have you ever wondered why this is?  You can bet there is no magic pill.    However, healthy people were found to have these common habits that may have you saying, "Duh..," but a few that may have you saying, "Aha."

Nourishing diet

Candy bars and processed foods are certainly not in the realm of these peoples' diet.  Sugar suppresses the immune system and contributes to sickness.  They mostly feast on quality one-ingredient foods high in protein with lots of vegetables rich in phytonutrients, vitamin C,  zinc and more.

A positive attitude
Never underestimate the power of a positivity. A study at the University of Kentucky found that participants who have an optimistic attitude demonstrated heightened cell-mediated immunity. When optimism dropped, so did immune response. As it turns out, the healthier people also have a tendency to have that sunny outlook.

Massage, yoga and acupressure

Stress is that silent cause of so many diseases.  Studies have shown that those with diseases tend to have the most stress.  It makes sense as stress tends to lower the immune system. Great stress managing techniques such as massage, yoga and acupuncture are recognized by healthy people as the perfect remedy leading to a more relaxed attitude and body.

 Quality sleep

Healthy and strong people don't party all night long.  They typically go to sleep at around 10 pm and sleep for at least 7-8 hours.  This helps promote the production of your ever important HGH (human growth hormone which retards aging), helps improve memory and even lose weight.

Cold showers or baths

While most of us cringe at the thought of a cold bath, especially in the heart of winter, research confirms that an icy dip significantly boosts the activity of white blood cells -- thereby destroying invading bacteria, viruses and harmful pathogens. Cold showers help to support this defensive process as well. Those who are the most resilient to illness also have a tendency to use cold water to invigorate the system.
