"I learned to overcome my fears of solos. Percussion club taught me to use drums to let out anger. I learned if I really try, I can improve in anything I wish to do."
-Alexa, 6th grade, Philadelphia

"I learned that I can do different things when I try
and that I need to be brave doing them."
-Kayla, 6th grade, Philadelphia

There are just 2 DAYS LEFT in our Kids Count Campaign.

2 more days to help more kids like Alexa and Kayla learn what they can do, find constructive ways to express their emotions, and be brave.

These students were part of "Musical Bridges," an after-school percussion program we started at Christopher Columbus Charter School in South Philadelphia. Last week they took the stage at World Cafe Live to perform for their classmates in one of our Bridge Sessions. They killed it!

We want to give more kids the chance to shine. We want to give more kids the chance to learn, improve and show how brave they are through music.

You can help more Alexas overcome their fears. You can help more Kaylas be brave.

Just $12 a month sponsors 12 kids a year. What could be better than that?

Don't delay, join the campaign!

P.S. Spread the word! We're on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.

ABOUT LIVECONNECTIONS:
LiveConnections inspires learning and builds community through collaborative music-making. Since our founding in 2008, LiveConnections has re-imagined the landscape of live music and music education through unique collaborations that join artists from different genres to highlight how music crosses cultures and creates bridges of understanding.

Our programs reach people who would not normally experience this kind of music -- such as youth from urban schools and people with disabilities -- as well as musically adventurous audiences. We offer three signature programs, all based out of our partner venue World Cafe Live.
  • Bridge Sessions are interactive, educational performances for urban youth and special needs populations that explore diverse musical styles and cultures and spark learning that's hands-on and alive.

  • ClassicAlive concerts expand how classical music is experienced through cross-genre collaborations, new and engaging repertoire and a relaxed atmosphere. Our 2014-2015 season features six concerts highlighting artists who write and perform their own original music.

  • LiveStudio offers live webcasting that connects underserved populations with concerts and educational programming using state-of-the-art video technology.
