Meet the Sheep on April 6
I've been busy! I just looked at the last newsletter--dated over a month ago. The schedule showed "Lambs due February 21". Since then there have been 78 lambs born, most within about 3 weeks. Of those there were 7 sets of triplets and a set of quads. You can visit the farm, pet the lambs, and see all kinds of fiber-related demonstrations at our annual open house event, Meet the Sheep. We hope that you'll be able to visit but if you can't come you can enjoy our lambs on the Meridian Jacobs YouTube channel. Here's a clip:

Blending Board
New from Clemes & Clemes!
Design your yarn before spinning! The Blending Board by Clemes and Clemes is a new fiber processing tool for achieving controlled blending, consistent novelty fiber preparation, and fiber placement control. The Blending Board gives spinners complete
control to produce rolags with repeatable patterns. Use any fiber and all your imagination to create fun-to-spin rolags. Each board comes with a cherry dowel for removing blended rolags and cherry brush for applying fiber. See the Blending Board in use at Meet the Sheep on April 6. Herdy Gifts Mugs, towels, & more!
When I went to TNNA in January I saw the Herdy line of products and knew that the gifts would be perfect for the shop. Herdy is named for the Herdwick sheep of the Lake District and the company supports sustainable rural communities in England. Products in the shop include mugs, sheep "piggy" banks, and tea towels. Eventually they will be on the website... |

Learn to Weave
Spring classes
I have heard from a lot of people who want to start weaving. Learn to Weave is a two day class that is appropriate whether you have never done any weaving, or if you have been w eaving awhile but would like to learn more efficient m ethods. I take a maximum of four people in this class so you will get plenty of personal attention. The next class is scheduled for June 8 & 9.
The rigid heddle loom requires less investment of money, equipment, and time than a traditional floor loom. You can learn to weave using a rigid heddle loom in the one-day Simple Scarves class coming up March 30.
As with any of my classes, please e-mail me to let me know you are interested. I will e-mail a group of people to select dates when we can put together a class.
