Shearing Day, November 10
Shorn sheep
Join us on Shearing Day. Visitors can watch shearing, learn how to skirt a fleece, and choose a fleece to purchase as it comes off the sheep. Bring your spinning wheel, a lunch, and spend the day. We will start shearing at 9:00 and work until there are no more sheep to shear. My shearer is very fast so we may be finished by early afternoon. Come in the morning to make sure you don't miss shearing. Kids are welcome at Shearing Day, but MUST be supervised by adults at all times. Please leave your dogs at home. See photos of previous shearing days here and here.

Parking is somewhat limited so please try to carpool. Do not park on Meridian Road. Traffic is fast and, if it's been raining, you could get stuck in the mud. Come in the driveway and we'll help you park if it is crowded.

Do you have sheep that need shearing? Reserve time on Shearing Day by contacting Robin.

Country Spinner 2
Spin 2 pounds of yarn on one bobbin!

I don't think of myself as an art-yarn kind of spinner, but when I started spinning on the new Country Spinner I was hooked on it--I'm not spinning anything fancy--just a bulky singles with a random mix of fiber and color. This is a FUN wheel to use! Stop by the shop to try it.

Jacob yarn Jacob Yarn

All the 2012 Jacob yarn is here and it is selling quickly. There are three weights this year. See info on the yarn page

Cold Feet?
You need wool socks.
Wool socks
We have 2 styles and 3 sizes of wool socks in gray Jacob and brown Rambouillet wool. The socks are very cozy and warm but are thin enough to fit in most shoes. The yarn was spun with some nylon for strength and, although it is recommended to handwash the socks, all of us have put them in the washing machine with no problem. You can purchase the socks on the website or at the shop.

Rain is here! It's time to get out the wool socks, sweaters, and blankets. And it's almost time to shear again. I hope to see you here.
