The 2013 Health Center and Public Housing National Symposium

The theme of the 2013 Health Center and Public Housing National Symposium was "Keys to Health Center Success" and focused on equipping health centers, health center and public housing advocates with the tools they needed to increase access to quality care for the underserved. The full newsletter contains more information on this year's national symposium.
Preparing for Emergencies

Health centers should have an action plan that is available to all staff and can be implemented. Effective plans should address specific issues such as staff, supplies, and time management. Health centers may need to work with community members to ensure that at risk patients have individual emergency plans. Read more about action plans in the full newsletter.

Does Your Health Center Have Emergency Plans and Policies?

National mandates have been created to address emergency preparedness guidelines. Health centers should have a set policy and plan to implement in the event of an emergency or disaster. Health centers make up a portion of the emergency response team and may have to work with various groups to achieve continuity of care for patients. Learn more about plans and guidelines in the full newsletter
