Congrats to the BBG Seahorses Dragon Boat Rowers!
See photos on our BBG Facebook site: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bay-Business-Group/336818553527
Kudos to our BBG Team! We were in the high middle rankings (by race time) out of 32 teams which is sooooo much better than being #20 out of 20 teams last year! But the real winner in the Dragon Boat Races are and those who are less fortunate in our communities who will not go hungry because of everyone's generous efforts. Thanks to BBG Member End Hunger Calvert, Rev. Robert Hahn, and their team for their tremendous contributions to Calvert County.
Thanks so much to everyone who bought seats to fill our BBG Dragon Boat, those who helped at our BBG booth, and those who cheered us on. Special thank you to BBG Member Pam Howard of Ad Options, Inc. who made these awesome BBG embroidered hand towels for our team! Pam is already planning to deck us out in seahorse garb for next year! And thanks to Beverly Dillon (Beverly's Gifts & Flowers) for bringing us the very cool dragon balloons! ~ Diane Burr, BBG President Additional fabulous photos of all teams at the two End Hunger sites:

Free Online Technology Assessment for Businesses
The Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland and the Maryland Broadband Cooperative are providing a nifty tool to measure how well your firm uses technology. The assessment is easy and informative (and might win you a free iPad!).
Participants receive a technology scorecard that includes recommendations supported by online business-friendly tools and resources. You may arrange for a business coach to visit you to discuss next steps. The overall results will drive educational offerings to help the entire business community become more tech-savvy, competitive and profitable.
Want that iPad? Complete the assessment by June 30 and you will be entered in the drawing. Only the first 500 participating firms will be eligible. While winning would provide an immediate ROI, the focus is long-term business success.
Assess your business now at http://sngroup.com/maryland/

Small Business Health Options Program
If you're a small business owner with fewer than 25 full-time equivalent employees, you may qualify for a tax credit worth up to 50 percent of your premium costs when you buy health insurance through the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP).
Use the Small Business Health Care Tax Credit Estimator to find out if you qualify and how much you may save.
Here's how you can claim the tax credit in 2014:
- Contact an agent, broker, or insurer about enrolling in a SHOP Qualified Health Plan.
- Fill out a paper application for SHOP eligibility. You can get an agent, broker, or navigator to help you, if needed.
- Send the application to the SHOP Marketplace.
The SHOP Marketplace will notify you about eligibility by phone, email or by regular mail if you request it. Before you can claim your tax credit, the SHOP must find you eligible and your employees must enroll in a SHOP plan.
For more information on the SHOP Marketplace, www.HealthCare.gov today or call 1-800-706-7893, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday. TTY users should call 1-800-706-7915.

BBG Welcome Bags!
The BBG is beginning to put together Welcome Bags (or boxes, depending on how much we get) for new homeowners in our area. There is no cost to participate for BBG members other than whatever you would like to place in the bag. BBG Member Rodney Githens will collect all the material and then delivery the Bags to local real estate agents.
If you would to participate, please contact Rodney at 301-327-5284 or email at rodney@githensandassociates.com Also, this is a great recruiting opportunity for the BBG, so please ask other business owners that are not BBG members if they would like to join and participate in this as well. Finally, ask all the real estate agents and agencies you know if they are willing to accept and give out the BBG Welcome Bags to their clients. All they need to do is contact Rodney.
Rodney's goal is to get this started in the next two weeks. Let him know in the next couple of days if you would like to participate, and then he will contact everyone when we're ready to start collecting material for the BBG Welcome Bags.
