A Heroes Welcome at the beach this weekend

On Saturday morning, patients of Bethesda Naval Hospital will once again come to Chesapeake Beach to spend a day on the Bay fishing and be hosted at a barbeque later Saturday afternoon.  As we have done in the past, residents of Windward Key and their families and friends will line the Windward Key boardwalk along Fishing Creek to give these heroes the send-off they deserve.  Please join us on the Boardwalk.  These heroes are due to arrive in Chesapeake Beach between 7:00am and 8:00am, so get here early to stake your position.

In the past, the Knights of Columbus has been very generous to supply coffee for us, but we have not asked them to do that this year.  In years past so much of the coffee has gone un-drunk that it is easier if people bring their own mug with their favorite blend.  But, as in the past, please bring donuts or other breakfast goodies to share.  We will again have several tables set up along the boardwalk for your breakfast treats.

Feel free to bring your own flag with you.  We will have some on hand as well.

Thanks.  I look forward to seeing you on Saturday morning.

Sincerely,

Bob Carpenter
