What's happenin' at The Wheel

May 26th -- Featuring the Eleanor Roosevelt High School Dixieland Combo,  a student directed musical group that performs recognizable tunes in the style of New Orleans jazz.  The combo plays voluntarily for farmer's markets, church dinners, school functions, various non-profit organizations, and has been hired for house parties.  We hope you enjoy this traditional American style of music!

Don't forget we are always getting new merchandise; Eucalyptus dresses and tops, Pali Sandals, bamboo socks and lots of new lines of clothing.  Feel good about looking good is our motto at The Wheel!  And we mean to prove it!

Prince Frederick Town Center Master Plan Meetings

Here's the info we discussed at the April BBG meeting about some very important seminars open to the public leading up to the Prince Frederick Town Center Master Plan Charrette, planned for the week of June 10.  I think these are VERY important to us as local business owners to both be involved in the process and be a part of new opportunities that may be ahead for us and the BBG.

These pre-charrette seminars will be held at the Calvert Library in Prince Frederick.  The sessions are expected to last about an hour. :

Implications and Implementation for Prince Frederick: Markets, Demographics and the New Trajectory of Town Centers

Monday, May 20, noon; Tuesday, May 21, 7 p.m.

Overview of Charrette Process and Visual Preference Survey

Wednesday, May 29, noon and 7 p.m.

Light refreshments will be provided at each session. If you wish to attend, please RSVP to Will Selman, Calvert County Department of Community Planning and Building, at 410-535-1600, ext. 2727, or via email at [email protected]

The charrette will focus on redevelopment of the former Calvert Middle School property and adjacent properties to north of Calvert Memorial Hospital along MD 2/4.  I plan to attend as many of these as possible and also be involved in the charrette. We'll have more info at the May BBG meeting as well and of course, share what we learn with BBG members.
