On May 11, 2013 The Concerned Black Men of Calvert County, Inc. (CBMCC) will host its "16th Annual Gala by the Bay Scholarship Banquet" at the Holiday Inn, Solomons, Maryland. It will be an evening of celebration and fellowship highlighted by the awarding of scholarships to four of our most promising students selected from Calvert County Public High Schools.

The Concerned Black Men of Calvert County, Inc., a Principal Chapter of the National Organization of Concerned Black Men, was founded in 1995. Our National Motto "caring for our youth..." coupled with our chapters mission "... To provide a holistic approach to services, which support the African-American family, and specifically targets the African-American youth. To establish a concerned male presence within the community with respect to positive rol! e models and exposure to social, cultural, educational, spiritual, business and community linkages.. Is indicative of our strong commitment to improving the lives of the youth of Calvert County. Through positive programs and collaborations this organization strives to fulfill its perpetual mission.

The Annual "Gala by the Bay" Scholarship Banquet is one of the Concerned Black Men of Calvert County's premiere fund raising events. Through your tax-exempt donations, the purchase of ads in the souvenir booklet, and your attendance at the banquet provides needed financial support and goes a long way in assisting the CBMCC in the fulfillment of its mission. To be successful our dedication and determination must be supplemented by the support of our great community. We ask that contributors and sponsors alike use the enclosed Rate Card and/or complete the Response Sheet enclosed along with this correspondence. All monies raised will help us to strengthen and enhance our active programs, which include: Positive Role Modeling, Mentoring, Cultural Field Trips, AAU Basketball, Real Life Counseling, Scholarship Awards, and providing Thanksgiving Baskets to deserving families.
