Submit YOUR Business Wish! Small Business Growing Strong campaign

Intuit and America's SBDC have had a long partnership of recognizing the importance of supporting small businesses in our communities. This spring, Intuit is helping small businesses blossom through the Small Business Growing Strong campaign. To date, Intuit has given away over $1.2 million to small businesses through this program, and this season they're doing it again by making 15 small business wishes (worth up to $5,000 each) come true.

Between April 2nd and May 12th, you can submit a wish for what your business needs at www.loveourlocalbusiness.com

What would help your business grow? Is it a new sign, new equipment, a long awaited upgrade or more marketing? Tell Intuit and you may just be one of the lucky 15!

Bill 2-13, working through the Anne Arundel County Council, will add Stormwater management fees to your business.

The fees will be used to pay for cleaning up stormwater pollution.
These fees are calculated on the amount of impervious areas of your home and business. Several amendments have been offered to reduce the fees for non-profits, HOA, and the like. Even with the reduction, these fees haven't been calculated into many a business owner's budget.

How much this will cost you can be calculated by going to the County's website and inputting your information. They will calculate it and call or email you the results.

This fee is mandated by the State of Maryland, and it is up to the counties targeted by the State to implement legislation to collect the fee.

To voice your questions or concerns, call your County Councilman or attend the hearing for this bill on Monday April 1, 2013 - 7 P.M. - Arundel Center - Legislative Day No. 8 and Public Hearings.
