The UPS Store is seeking a customer service sales associate. This is a retail position requiring the ability to work directly with the public in a pleasant & efficient manner.
Must have excellent communications skills; be attentive to detail; be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 70lbs. Must have the ability to learn document production and manifesting software programs and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously. Good typing and math skills also needed.
This is a permanent position, up to 30 hours weekly available, permanent position (not summer help). Great for recent hs grad attending school locally.

The Calvert County Department of Economic Development is conducting the 2012 Business Survey and seeks input from county business owners. The survey helps the department learn more about county businesses, offers insight into business concerns and suggests steps that can be taken to provide assistance. Data collected from the survey will be used to support local businesses and enhance the programs and services that are currently available. Fallen Heroes Remembrance Ceremony
Join local EMS and Volunteer Firefighters in a remembrance ceremony honoring our fallen heroes on Saturday, May 19th at 10am.
There will be a dedication for the newly installed Firefighters/EMS Memorial.
The Calvert County Fire and EMS Pipes and Drums will perform the song "Amazing Grace". Reception will follow. Rain or shine.

Attention Calvert County residents over 50!
Calvert County residents age 50 and over now have great new incentives to choose among the more than 750 Office on Aging (OOA) programs.
A coupon book available for a limited time offers chances for free program sessions, fee waivers, giveaways and even a $300 shopping spree.The coupon book works like a punch pass. As residents attend OOA programs and events they earn chances for additional rewards.
Three top-prize $300 shopping sprees are available, one at each of the county's three senior centers. Other giveaways include a free October trip on Delaware's Wilmington & Western Railroad, a Nintendo Wii Fit game, books, class fee waivers and free attendance at other OOA program sessions.Offerings vary at each of the senior centers, so residents are encouraged to visit them all.

Got a Boat?
The Solomons Island Yacht Club (SIYC) will conduct the Annual Blessing of the Fleet for all boats in the Solomons area on Sunday, May 20, 2012. This ceremony originated many years ago to bless the fishing fleet for a safe and successful season, and is continued to this day for that purpose.
The events will begin with a wreath laying ceremony at the Waterman's Memorial on the Solomons River Walk at 11 a.m. followed by the Club Commissioning and Flag Raising Ceremony at 1 p.m. at the SIYC. The public is cordially invited to attend these events. This is the 75th anniversary of the SIYC and the Blessing of the Fleet holds a special meaning for the entire Solomons area.
All boaters are invited to participate in the boat parade and Blessing of the Fleet. The boat parade will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the harbor and can be viewed by spectators from the Solomons River Walk.

Calvert You are Beautiful Volunteer Nominations
The Calvert County Department of Economic Development announces that nominations are now being accepted for the annual Calvert You Are Beautiful Volunteer Awards.
This project recognizes individuals whose volunteer service improves the quality of life for Calvert County citizens and visitors. Nominated volunteers might be a tour guide at a museum or historic landmark, someone who organizes a local fair, festival or parade, or the person committed to making a difference by giving generously of their time to hospices, hospitals, homeless and other social service agencies. All nominees must be residents of Calvert County.
Nomination forms are available online by visiting www.ecalvert.com or by calling the Department of Economic Development at 410-535-4583. Completed nomination forms should be returned to Calvert You Are Beautiful c/o Tammy Loveless, Department of Economic Development, Courthouse, Prince Frederick, Maryland 20678.
