Complete a Survey to Gauge Local Business Climate
 The Calvert County Department of Economic Development is conducting the 2012 Business Survey and seeks input from county business owners. The survey helps the department learn more about county businesses, offers insight into business concerns and suggests steps that can be taken to provide assistance. Data collected from the survey will be used to support local businesses and enhance the programs and services that are currently available. All responses are confidential and the survey only takes a few moments to complete. Any Calvert County business owner who wishes to complete the survey may do so ONLINE NOW or by calling 410-535-4583 or 301-855-1880. The deadline for completion is May 25. |

Fallen Heroes Remembrance Ceremony
 Join local EMS and Volunteer Firefighters in a remembrance ceremony honoring our fallen heroes on Saturday, May 19th at 10am.
There will be a dedication for the newly installed Firefighters/EMS Memorial.
The Calvert County Fire and EMS Pipes and Drums will perform the song "Amazing Grace". Reception will follow. Rain or shine.

On Saturday, April 21, 2012 volunteers from Comcast, the North Beach House and Garden Club, the Red Hatters, Boys & Girls Club, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and town residents helped to beautify our town by planting and mulching flower beds, planting trees and cleaning up Walton Beach Nature Preserve. Bands on the Bay is a concert and auction fundraiser honoring Jenna Heck and benefiting the Hunter Nelson Sturge-Weber Center. This year's event will be held on Saturday, May 5th from 5-10pm at Herrington on the Bay in Rose Haven, MD and will feature The Doug Segree Band.

Mark your calendars for Memorial Day Weekend: Saturday, May 26 - Monday, May 28 for the Town of Chesapeake Beach's first annual Stars & Stripes Festival!
All three days will be jam-packed with free community events honoring the men and women who give so much to protect our freedom. Click for iinfo on the many events scheduled.
Businesses and individuals are encouraged to help support this effort to bring back the true meaning of Memorial Day, honoring military personnel. Sponsorships range from just $25 to $2,500.
Everyone is also asked to consider donating supplies for care packages that will be given to wounded warriors.
