Hunters Flock to Russell County Resort

What started as a hobby 25 years ago has exploded into a full-time business for Scott and Roxanne Young of rural Russell. The couple owns and operates LaSada, a full-service hunting resort, near the Smoky Hill River, south of Russell.


In 1992, Scott and Roxanne developed their hunting lodge and bed and breakfast, the Black Swan Inn, to better meet the needs of their hunting clients. In addition, the Youngs added trapshooting, rifle and pistol ranges, as well as a sporting clays course that attracts sportsmen and women, and shooting enthusiasts year round.
