Use the resources in worship, small groups, Sunday School classes, committee meetings, and any other way that they help your congregation. Youth Worker Training
If you are looking for some continuing education options, there are several to choose from this fall.
The Summit, November 7-8, Nashville, TN
A Creativity Sparker. An Idea Stirrer. An Insight Inviter.
That's what The Summit is all about.
We're all for practical training, but training is not really the focus of this event (there are other events that do that really well). Instead, The Summit is intentionally designed to stir your youth ministry imagination and assist you in discerning God's leading for your wonderfully unique expression of youth ministry.

The Youth Cartel
Kenda Dean at Tennessee Wesleyan College
November 20-21, Athens, TN
Well known youth ministry author, Kenda Dean, will be in Athens to talk about youth ministry, how we have missed the mark and how we can better reach the needs of our youth. She will also challenge us to think outside the typical youth ministry box! This event will begin Thursday evening and conclude Friday afternoon. More details will be announced soon!

PARTNERS IN MINISTRY;
As we continue to stay focused on our mission to "make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world", one of the greatest locations we have for doing that is Camp Wesley Woods. Every year during summer camp, we hear of high percentages of children and youth who make a commitment of their lives to Jesus Christ, many for the first time.
For the last six years, there has been a steady decline of the number of children and youth from the Knoxville District attending summer camp at Wesley Woods. That is very distressing to me and I hope it is to all of the people of our congregations. If you know of particular reasons why this has developed among your church, please let me or John Erdman (Camp Director) or Don Thomas (Lead Pastor at Trinity UMC and Chair of the Camp Board) know. We really do want to make the summer camp experience one in which you want the children and youth of your congregation and community to participate.
Beyond that, I ask that you all consider two ways you can help turn this around. First, set a goal for the number of children and youth from your congregation AND community/neighborhood you want to send to camp next summer. Determine what the cost will be to meet that goal, then begin planning for how you will reach that financial goal. Maybe you can include some or all of it in the church ministry budget for next year. Maybe you will need to plan some fundraisers for some of it.
Second, begin no later than January to invite children and youth around you to consider going to camp next summer. Target who you want to send and do all you can to help make that happen.
Thank you all so much for all you do and give to further the mission of our Lord in your neighborhood and community. Remember you have a great resource in Camp Wesley Woods!
Love, Grace & Peace,
Nathan Malone

REZ KIDS
January 18-19 2015
Gatlinburg Convention Center
http://www.rezkidz.com/ for more information or download a registration form here
Our Mission is based on Deuteronomy 6:5-7: "And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up." (NLT)
Not only must we love God with all our heart, but we must consistently teach our children about the Love of Christ and make it a priority to be in constant conversation about the gospel message. Our mission is to equip families with the tools they can use to strengthen their faith together.
At Rez Kidz, we dream of parents and their children committing together to make their faith a priority. We dream of boys and girls who light up with excitement when they walk through the door and leave in wonder about a King who loves them. We dream of families committing themselves wholeheartedly to the commands of the Lord. We dream of watching the gospel message change lives, one family at a time.
That is our mission: to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and to encourage, equip, and build-up families as we glorify our Savior.
