Free QPR Gatekeeper Training Available

QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) is a very simple, yet highly effective & evidence based, method of preventing suicide. It provides adults ("Gatekeepers") with the tools they need to respond to the needs of a person who is suicidal and help them access needed services.
QPR Gatekeeper Training is FREE and takes only 90 minutes to complete.

The FCFC Strong Families, Safe Communities program now has numerous QPR Suicide Prevention Certified Instructors trained & ready to conduct QPR Gatekeeper trainings in Butler County.

Circle of Friends Impact Scholarship

Celebrating Life, Inc. (COFCL) today launched its new Circle of Friends Impact Scholarship to assist young, female survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation pursue post-secondary education and workforce skills in pursuit of self- sufficiency. See application for more details and application information.

TLC Childhood Trauma Training Series
June - August, 2017, Columbus, OH
This training series provides mental health, education, and child welfare professionals innovative strategies and tools to improve their abilities to help children overcome trauma. All of these trainings are conducted by certified trainers of TLC and are supported by published evidence-based research. Childhood Trauma Specialist (CTS) certification is available to individuals who complete sufficient trainings and pass an online exam.  See website for more event details and registration information.

The 2017 Big Brothers Big Sisters Run 4 Kids is an event for everyone! For all you runners, come out for the 10K or 5K chip timed run. Want to walk? Join us in the 5K walk. FREE Webinar, Trauma Sensitive Language
Thursday, April 20th 2pm-3pm
Learn the basics of trauma and how to use trauma-sensitive language verbally and in writing to support recovery while still meeting the deficit-based requirements of most insurance companies. Learn more about the urgent need for all individuals working in behavior health and community services to practice using trauma-sensitive language.

Understanding Complex Trauma and Innovative Approaches Training, featuring Joesph Spinazzola, PhD, Executive Director of the Trauma Center & VP of BH/Trauma Services Justine Resource Institute. The full day training will be offered in Springfield, Ohio. Coordinated by the Southwest Trauma-Informed Care Collaborative and sponsored by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and Mental Health & Addiction Services.
