The Pause program, an initiative of the Family and Children First Council has acquired the creation and distribution of the Family Connections E-Newsletter as part of our commitment to resource families in Butler County.  While Pause specific information has been added, you will still find all the great things you have come to love about this monthly publication.  We hope you find great opportunities to connect with your family and with other families in the community! All events are FREE unless noted otherwise!



   Who are we? 
Pause is committed to assisting families of children with physical, mental, developmental, medical, behavioral or learning challenges, access to a broad range of support options by maximizing the use of community resources and family support networks. Free Family Fun Event


Pause has partnered with Cobb Theater at the Liberty Center Mall for a sensory friendly viewing of the film, Sing on Saturday, January 21st! FREE tickets are limited to the first 75 Pause participants who register.  Doors will open at 9:30am and seats are reserved.

Let us provide free fun for your family!  In collaboration with community partners, Pause is able to offer Free Family Fun events throughout the year. This is a time for your family to have fun in a special needs friendly environment, without the worry of financial stress. We know how important stress-free family fun is to our families and we want to continue to fulfill that need!

CURRENT EVENTS 
 
January (every Friday): Fitton Family Friday
Fitton Family Fridays are geared toward children and families of all ages. Enjoy everything from plays by local children's theater groups to interactive concerts and national comedy acts. A free reception of kid-friendly drinks and appetizers is served prior to each show.




January 1- April Winter Farmers Market
Still hoping to find your favorite coffees, breads, meats, produce and treats during the winter months? The Village Green Farmers Market, presented by the City of Fairfield and Fairfield Parks and Recreation, is moving next door for the winter. Stop by the Fairfield Community Arts Center veranda on the second Wednesday each month from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.


Are you a Master Builder? Show off your skills by entering our inaugural Lego Contest! Entries will be displayed January 16 - 30. Library patrons will vote for their favorites. Two winners in each age category will receive Lego gift cards.


January 17, 6pm-8pm- Teen Game Night
Come play classic and German-inspired board games at the Tech Center. A variety of games will be offered each month. Snacks will be provided.





The prehistoric world comes to life as students learn language arts and science through a thrilling show as they watch, hear, and touch realistic one-of-a-kind puppets and museum quality fossils. This interactive show motivates children to discover the amazing world of dinosaurs through the essential skills of writing and reading.


January- 28- Ink Blot Craft
Ages 12 - 18

Use alcohol-based inks to make your own designs on paper, glass and ceramic materials. Supplies will be provided. 





January 20- January 31: IceFest 2017
IceFest is back! This winter extravaganza takes place on the happening streets of downtown Hamilton, This year's theme, 'To Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before', pays tribute to the explorer in all of us with ice sculptures centered around the frontier of exploration, science, and technology as well as the people who have taken us there over the years. Explore the excitement of downtown Hamilton while enjoying a large collection of frozen art this January!

P.S. On January 21 from 12-2PM you can meet a penguin at Miami University Hamilton Downtown during IceFest!
