Butler Tech Announces FREE Adult High School Diploma Program
Butler Tech, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Education, announces a FREE Adult High School Diploma Program. Ohio residents age 22 and older who have not completed high school or received a GED can now earn a diploma and an industry credential, preparing them for entry into a new career. Available at no cost to participants, the Adult Diploma Program is based on Work Keys Assessment proficiency. Participants can complete their education at their own pace, earning a fully accredited high school diploma (from the state of Ohio) rather than a GED. Butler Tech introduces this program because of the opportunity it offers to residents to become re-engaged in their own education, then advance into an industry career in areas such as healthcare, manufacturing and public safety.
Share your thoughts about updating Ohio's Learning Standards
Now that educators have several years of experience using Ohio's Learning Standards in science, social studies and financial literacy, it's time to ask if we need to make updates or improvements. This fine-tuning effort is part of an overall review of all of Ohio's Learning Standards to ensure that schools are preparing students for the changing expectations of colleges and employers. All Ohioans can share their thoughts about the standards through a survey that is open through Jan. 9.
