While Pause specific information has been added, you will still find all the great things you have come to love about this monthly publication. Pause is committed to assisting families of children with physical, mental, developmental, medical, behavioral or learning challenges, access to a broad range of support options by maximizing the use of community resources and family support networks. On the current menu of options, Pause provides: respite, free family fun events, caregiver networking/resourcing and community service events to help families with tangible needs. Let us care for your child while you get a break! Your child will be paired with a buddy whose main job is to spend quality time having fun and caring for them. We will have snacks, do craft projects, play games and more! This event is for all children with special needs and their siblings. We ensure that every buddy is equipped with the knowledge and tools to provide the best care possible for your child. Buddies either have extensive experience working with special needs children or attend an orientation specially designed for volunteer caregivers.
Holiday Toy/Item Drive
Help us supply our Holiday Shoppe by donating NEW, unwrapped 5$ or less toys and items. Children will be able to shop for their families during the event. Suggested toys and items are toys, puzzles, mugs, pot holders, journals, etc. Drop off donations at any PAUSE site or email Lisa McCoon at (513) 885-7786 or at mccoonl@BCESC.org.

November 20-December 31: Lights on the Hill
Bring your friends and loved ones to this award-winning drive thru holiday lights display! Drive through a 2 mile round-trip magical winter wonderland of Pyramid Hill lights and monumental sculptures glowing with Holiday spirit! This is handicap accessible and costs 20$ Monday through Thursday and 25$ on the weekend. Members pay only 15$.
Create a holiday tradition for your family at this magical indoor holiday celebration! See the magic of Christmas at the home of the World's Largest Indoor Train Display. Take a "Journey to the North Pole", where you can meet Mrs. Claus and Santa. Mrs. Claus will treat you to cookies in her kitchen as you prepare your wish list for Santa. Don't miss "Main Street Holiday Trains" that showcases a beautiful winter train display. Please note: Santa will go on vacation beginning December 26.
Experience the magic of the holiday season at the annual Niederman Family Christmas Walk. Visitors will enjoy tens of thousands of lights that illuminate the path. Fifty speakers set the mood with holiday music. As you complete your Christmas Walk journey, the Niederman family will treat you to cookies and hot chocolate! The walking path is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Donations are appreciated.
Alive After 5 is a monthly shop hop in downtown Hamilton, bringing an exciting start to the weekend. Each High Street business will be creating a Winter Wonderland for December's AA5! Head to downtown Hamilton for free family friendly shopping, music, entertainment, food and festivities. On street parking is free after 5PM.
Enjoy a vast variety of offerings at this authentic German Christmas market. This weekend long event has something for everyone. Dance along to live German music, stroll the offerings of the German market and enjoy mouth-watering German food and beer. The giant cream puffs are a huge and tasty hit. Children can write their wish lists to Santa and drop them in Santa's mailbox for free North Pole delivery. Be sure not to miss the lantern parade that kicks off the festivities on Friday evening!
Take in the sights, sounds and scents of the season! The Pioneer Village will be decorated with thousands of lights and luminaries. Each cabin will be beautifully decorated for Christmas. Entertainment will include live music, pioneer cooking demonstrations including food samples, crafts and activities. Take a family photo on an authentic sleigh. Snacks and warm beverages will be available for purchase. This holiday outing will become a new family tradition!
Carriage bells on horse drawn carriages will ring in the annual Christmas walk in German Village. Large toy soldiers will be on display and village ambassadors will welcome and assist you as you wander the village. Listen to strolling musicians in Dickens attire, take a carriage ride, buy roasted nuts and other tasty treats along the way. You can tour St. Julie Billiart Church, private residences, and historic buildings and businesses decorated in full Victorian splendor. Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase crafts and gifts and visit with Santa and his reindeer.
Light Up Fairfield will ring in the holiday season! Help Santa light up the big tree on the Village Green Amphitheater Stage. Light Up Fairfield includes story time, a holiday market, caroling, children's crafts and you can help decorate a giant gingerbread house! Enjoy a day of festive family fun in Fairfield, OH! This event is handicap accessible and is going from 10am-6pm!
Celebrate the holidays with this show featuring 2 Christmas classics. Shows to take place at 3PM on Dececember 10 and 17, and 8PM on Dec 9, 10 & 16. This event is handicap accessible and tickets are on sale for 15$. The plays are put on at the Middletown Lyric Theater.
Celebrate New Year's Eve at Ryan's Tavern in Hamilton. The festivities will get underway at 8:30PM. Complimentary Hors D'oeuvres will be served buffet style along with a cash bar. Every guest will enjoy a Champagne toast to ring in the New Year. Enjoy live entertainment by DJ Jazznosis, wacky animals by Dave the Balloon Guy and a special belly dancing performance. Be sure to enter the raffle drawing! All contributions from the raffle will go directly to Canines for Kids.
You must be 21 or older to attend this event. ID required. This event is handicap accessible and tickets are 25$ before Christmas and 30$ after.
