   New Look - Same Great Content!
The Pause program, an initiative of the Family and Children First Council has acquired the creation and distribution of the Family Connections E-Newsletter as part of our commitment to resource families in Butler County.  While Pause specific information has been added, you will still find all the great things you have come to love about this monthly publication.  We hope you find great opportunities to connect with your family and with other families in the community! All events are FREE unless noted otherwise!

   Who is Pause? 
Pause is committed to assisting families of children with physical, mental, developmental, medical, behavioral or learning challenges, access to a broad range of support options by maximizing the use of community resources and family support networks. On the current menu of options, Pause provides:  respite, free family fun events, caregiver networking/resourcing and community service events to help families with tangible needs.  For more information visit our website at www.bcesc.org/pause.aspx.

JULY 

JOE NUXHALL MIRACLE LEAGUE EVENT
Saturday, July 16 from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM 

Come join us for our first annual Pause Family vs. Pause Volunteer kickball game event! Food, special guests and other games/activities, plus 2 ADA accessible playgrounds for kids! 

Volunteers needed and volunteer families encouraged to attend. Registration required for both families and volunteers.  







    
AUGUST

BACK TO SCHOOL BASH 
Saturday, August 6 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM 

Come join us at the Fairfield YMCA for swimming, gym activities, games and fun!
Backpacks full of school supplies will be distributed to each child in attendance.

Volunteers needed. Registration required for both families and volunteers.

You are invited to hear Dr. Cabansag present, "Exchanging one drug for another? The truth about medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorders."
  • Participants will learn the prevalence of opioid use disorders locally and regionally.

Booster Session: Guardianship and Alternatives to Guardianship

Would you like to learn more about guardianship and other alternatives for youth and young adults who have developmental disabilities and/or complex medical needs? 

Are you a parent, sibling, caregiver or professional working with youth and young adults who have developmental disabilities and/or complex medical needs? 

Then this in-depth, interactive and FREE session is for YOU!

In this session you will:
  • Learn what guardianship is, what other options exist, and why it is important to thik carefully about this decision
  • Develop a better understanding of the legal considerations and proces
  • See examples of county probate court forms and applications
  • Become more prepared and empowered with resources to make informed decsiions about your loved one's life
