Forum on Families & Children

The Fourth Annual Butler County Social Services Resource Expo will be held on Friday, August 5th, from 10 am to 1 pm, at Fairfield High School.  

Do families approach you for help with issues such as treatment services for themselves or their children, emergency housing or financial needs? Do you just want to know more about the breadth of resources available in Butler County? 

The Butler County Social Services Expo is a great way for you to learn more about services and supports available to families and children in our community. This event is FREE and open to anyone!

United Way DAY OF ACTION-  Friday, June 24, 2016 'STONE SOUP'
United Way Day of Action is a coordinated effort each year where communities from around the world come together to harness volunteer spirit and improve the conditions in which they live. 
If you've ever read the book STONE SOUP, you know that a community came together, bringing what little they had to offer, and together, they fed the entire hungry village. On Friday, June 24th 
we will be creating our version of 'Stone Soup' benefiting Butler County's Serve City in Hamilton, Ohio.There are many ways to participate in this fun and rewarding event! Click here to learn more

The Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention Association of Ohio (ADAPAO) Advocate Award Presented to Christi Valentini-Lackner, OCPS I; Project Director, Coalition for a Healthy, Safe & Drug Free Greater Hamilton. 
The Butler County FCFC would like to congratulate Christi Valentini-Lackner on her recent receipt of the ADAPAO Advocate Award! Christi has become one of the strongest prevention advocates in Southwest Ohio, engaging adults and youth in conversation, cooperation and action to prevent substance abuse. She is a recent graduate of the ADAPAO Mentoring Project, a professional development initiative for Ohio's most promising prevention specialists. "Christi is an energetic, intelligent, and skilled prevention advocate," said Aimee Wade, ADAPAO vice president. "She is a terrific ambassador for community-based prevention." We are proud of the talent of our Butler County prevention professionals in leading the way to promoting positive behavioral health and wellness.

SPARK for Autism Study seeks participants for study 
Researchers from Cincinnati Children's are part of a national Autism study, for which they collect saliva samples from children and adults who have Autism. They are also interested in getting saliva samples from families who have a child/family member who has Autism.

Openings still available for Girls Inc. Summer Camp at the YWCA Hamilton
Girls Inc. at YWCA Hamilton offers fun-filled summer day camps to girls in grades 4-7 that inspire them to be strong, smart, and bold.  Campers will experiment with science and technology, take field trips, develop cooking skills, learn about careers, make friends and more! Each week offers a new theme to explore including: Animal Adventures, Foodie Fantasy, and Mad Scientist.  This year Cincinnati Zoo and COSI will be visiting camp. Two sessions of camp are offered.  Session 1 is for girls entering grades 4 and 5 and runs June 6th-July 1st.  Session 2 is for girls entering grades 6 and 7 and runs July 11th-August 5th.  All camps are Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm.  Early drop-off and late pickup are offered at no additional charge. Please contact [email protected] or 513-856-9800 for more information.
