A 'win' for co-teaching in Saint Paul Public Schools

Sometimes a relatively small amount of money can lead to profound, unanticipated success when put in the hands of the right people. This was never more the case than this past semester at St. Paul's Central High School.

Connecting with youth: the power of relationships

With a college wish list that includes Notre Dame, Stanford and Yale, Como Park senior Aimee Vue has big plans for her future--but that hasn't stopped her from continuing to make an impact right now.

In the past two years alone, Vue has worked as a youth engagement assistant for the Minnesota Alliance With Youth, interned for the Chris Coleman for Saint Paul campaign and served as a high school page for the Minnesota House of Representatives.

As a tutor, you will implement research-based strategies to help children believe in themselves and succeed in reading by the end of third grade.

You will receive training, a living allowance of about $526 (full-time), an education award of up to $5,645 and the reward of making a real impact in your community. Tutors who are 55 or older may choose to transfer their education award to a child, grandchild or foster child.

Strong preference is given to tutors who can start serving August 10, 2014.

One year. This year. Serve to grow.
