A year in review

So much happened in 2012 for the Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation and students of SPPS. We launched our Alumni & Friends program, new website and blog

Additionally, Saint Paul residents approved the levy renewal which will continue early childhood education programs and add technology to the schools.

Breakfast Success!

On October 4th, we filled Washington Technology Magnet's Great Hall with 475 attendees and raised over $130,000 for great teachers and students of SPPS!

Jo Ann    
My heart is in Harding
Jo Ann Clark, East Saint Paul resident from Tennessee, has worked for over two decades to support SPPS and provide more opportunities for students of color. JoAnn can be found in Harding High School as an AVID tutor twice a week and puts on the 'Thinking College Early' Saturday fairs for parents and students. In addition, she fundraises and runs the annual Progressive Baptist College Tour that takes students of color to Historically Black Colleges and Universities throughout the country to help them get a better understanding of what college is like. Foundation receives $12,000 Comcast grant!

The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation is the recipient of a $12,000 grant from the comcastComcast Foundation. The grant will provide a unique and valuable opportunity for the Foundation to integrate technology and digital literacy into its Tutoring Partnerships Program,
a collaborative of school and community programs dedicated to providing high-quality academic support to students in St. Paul.

 
   
 John Gustafson named Tutor of the Year!

Mr. Gustafson earned the title of Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation Tutor of the Year because of his dedication to two students at different schools
(Horace Mann School and Farnsworth Aerospace). He tutors upwards of 30 hours every month and is constantly developing new and innovative ways to engage his students in math. 

2011-2012 Tutoring Partnership Achievements:
7,300 students were served
1,800 tutors were recruited and trained
