The KAMU HCCN Project Team has scheduled the following Connections webinars to keep you informed. Invitations will be sent approximately 2 weeks prior to the event.

Wednesday, November 5, 12:00-1:00pm

Welcome to Your Community Health Center: Using Demographic Data to Inform Design

The mission of every community health center is to break down barriers to effective, patient-centered healthcare, barriers that are constantly changing and strengthening, sometimes within our own walls. Our facilities are powerful communicators as well as process facilitators. Unfortunately, they often contradict our words and hinder our efforts. This webinar will focus specifically on using demographic data to shape your built environment as a tool for minimizing personal stress, communicating cultural expertise and maximizing effective interactions.

Tuesday, November 18, 11:30am-12:30pm

The Impact of ICD-10 on Revenue Cycle Management

The overall effect of ICD-10 on revenue cycle management is the key focus of this webinar. It provides valuable information regarding conducting an organizations ICD-10 assessment of practice operations in order to reach optimal efficiency as a result from a successful ICD-10 transition. By analyzing workflows of ICD-10 impact areas, improvement strategies can be developed in order to maximize revenue cycle management efficiency. Attendees will be motivated to pursue a successful ICD-10 implementation through gaining a better understanding of ICD-10 impact on these areas, and the positive outcomes that ICD-10 may provide their organization.

Wednesday, November 19, 11:30am-12:30pm

What is ICD-10 and How Does it Affect You?

The changes required to successfully transition an entire organization from ICD-9 to ICD-10 are sweeping and involve review and modification of every process currently touched by an ICD-9 code. Implementation success is achieved methodically with extensive planning and significant participation from the whole team over time and begins with an understanding of the task at hand. Attendees will be introduced to the code set and common concepts impacting daily processes and will attain the knowledge and skills required to effectively participate in the ICD-10 transition.

Thursday, November 20, 11:30am-12:30pm

Readiness Preparation from a Providers Perspective

Active provider and clinical staff participation in the ICD-10 transition is essential for a successful implementation. In the past, providers were tasked with providing adequate documentation, while code assignment was the concern of others appropriately trained in the art of coding; however, new technology has sparked a major shift in documentation and code selection which increases the demands placed on providers. Providers attending this webinar will benefit from learning common ICD-10 coding conventions for improved documentation and diagnosis code selection, as well as defining solutions to ensure constructive input into transitioning daily processes to ICD-10.
