Final Ruling: Summary of Modifications to the EHR Incentive Program for 2014

On August 29, 2014, CMS released the Final Rule on modifications of the EHR Incentive Program for 2014. The rule allows health care providers more flexibility in how they use certified electronic health record (EHR) technology (CEHRT) to meet meaningful use for an EHR Incentive Program reporting period for 2014.

What are the key provisions of the rule? How does the ruling affect you? Mary Monasmith, RHIA, PCMH CCE, HIT and Quality Improvement Consultant for the Kansas Regional Extension Center and Synōvim Healthcare Solutions, Inc., will provide answers to these questions and more.

Tuesday, October 28, 11:30am-12:30pm

Understanding Race, Ethnicity and Language: Implications for Healthcare

State Refugee Health Coordinator at KDHE, Cindy Treaster, will discuss current HRSA/BPHC cultural and linguistic requirements and how the Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) provide a blueprint for your clinic in delivering services to diverse populations in your community.

Thursday, October 30, 11:30am-12:30pm

Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services: Health Services for Kansas' Refugee Populations

As a follow up to the October 28th webinar, Cindy Treaster will explain how people become refugees and the process through which they arrive in Kansas. Common health issues refugees experience will be presented along with background information on four of the top six refugee populations in Kansas. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss ideas on how this information and the data collected from your health center can be included in your health center strategic plan.
