CMS Meaningful Use Attestation Portal Bug

"It has been brought to our attention that there is a known issue with the CMS Attestation Portal that could potentially impact your attestation for Meaningful Use.  If providers or hospitals first attested for Medicaid Year 0 Adopt, Implement, Upgrade and they are now (in 2014) in Stage 1 Year 2, we have found that there is a bug with the CMS portal that puts these providers in Stage 2 even though they are in Stage 1.  We have been in contact with CMS and they are aware of the issue with the website. They plan to have this corrected in the portal and are expecting a fix in early October 2014.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the CMS help line for further information regarding this bug."

Payer Eligibility Processing Issue

"The payers listed in the attachment are currently unable to process eligibility transactions. To avoid potential transaction processing fees and disruptions to the payers' resolution plan, we recommend that you hold all eligibility transactions for these payers until this issue is resolved.  The payers are working to restore service as quickly as possible. We will update you as soon as we receive additional information."

Webinar For Physicians: ICD-10 Best Practices and Optimizing Revenue Cycle Performance

Complimentary webinar on October 21, 2014, 3 pm EDT looks at impact of ICD-10 and how to thrive as your practice navigates through this transition.

The move from ICD-9 to ICD-10 has been delayed twice in the last five years.  Most agree, however, that there will not be another. The deadline to implement is now just twelve months away.

Converting to the new code set will touch every aspect of a provider's operations, including patient services, care delivery, and revenue cycle management. RCM in particular needs attention as the transition to ICD-10 is sure to impact medical coding, billing and reimbursement.

On this informative webinar Health IT expert Justin Barnes will lead you through best practices for making the transition and will discuss:

  • Best practices in optimizing your revenue cycle
  • How to create true Revenue Cycle Performance (RCP)
  • Understanding the Administrative Burden Index so you uncover where your inefficiencies are to increase your revenue.
  • The strategy to evolve with changing patient collection models and best practices
  • ICD-10 checklists and best practices
  • Understanding the expansion: ICD-10 Documentation and Code Set
  • Understand what you stand to lose if you do not have the right partnerships in place
  • Deploying strategies to mitigate provider risk as ICD-10 emerges and payment models shift
