How Soon We Forget
I do not unfriend people on Facebook very often. It usually takes a lot for me to openly say, "I am sick of you stupid posts." Unfortunately I unfriended someone who is in my circle of other friends so I occasionally hear about their rants.
Recenty they were posting their annoyance with the attitude of those in the GOP. I guess we are not being good losers. Now here is the irony about the nature of their post.
This individual works for a company run by a relatively conservative individual. This person works about 20-25 hours a week at a nice wage. They have no health insurance and look forward to the time when Obama care steps in a mandates their employer to provide health care to the less than 30 hour a week employees.
This individual is not bright enough to figure out that when that happens his employer will (not "might, but will" as I know enough folk on executive compensation committees that are making these decisions as we speak for their 2013 budgets) cut many of these people (probably him) from the ranks and lower the current lucrative hourly wage from remaining part timers.
This individual was almost bankrupt 10 years ago (before the bubble) and was bailed out by wealthy one per center family members. The cause of the near bankruptcy was not tragic other than really stupid decisions on their part.
That individual is living in a home they could not afford if it were not for the help from the benevolent wealthy family member. This individual's mother is also being supported by the benevolent wealthy family member and they show no gratitude or remorse that her fiscal situation is being addressed with no assistance from that person.
This individual also did not file tax returns for four years, which also added to their unmanageable debt. That to was cleaned up by the wealthy benevolent family member. But that's ok because like a lot of folk, if you can't or don't want to work 40-50 hours a week like the wealthy family members have done most of their adult life, our government or a wealthy family member will step in and take care of them.
And that is probably why, in one of their recent Facebook posts this individual said they were proud of their government (That they chose not to pay taxes to for four years.) and that The GOP should listen to the message being sent by the American people and get over their recent loss. Ironically they do not understand, it is not our loss it is their loss. They will probably find that out the next time they make some really stupid mistakes and will need help from their wealthy benevolent family.
Ok that was not real entertaining now was it?
Today I enjoyed breakfast with the guys at the club. That even sounds like a line from a wealthy greedy one per center family member. It was cold this morning. It was thirty six degrees as I opened the roof on my convertible.
We could not play golf today as Devin was preparing for her sojourn (I love having a blog just to use words like sojourn.) to our place in Utah. Yes another gratuitous comment made by a greedy uber-rich person.
This is a big step for her as she is not fond of air travel and has never traveled alone alone. I am quite proud of her. Although DELTA almost messed up my plans for the evening. Her plane was delayed almost two hour and just this side of being cancelled. Delta almost lived up to their underground acronym, Doesn't Ever Leave The Airport.
She arrived in the town Bringham Young once described as; "It will do! These folk are about to mutiny." Yes Devin will spend a week nestled amongst the 11 inches of snow we received on Thursday and make our home Chritmasized.
Jack and I will hold down the fort. Devin explained to me the pill dispensing for the animals. It took about 319 dollars worth of zip locked baggies to get all the meds and supplements squared away for the dogs and cats.
Unbeknownst to her I am going to put them all in a big bowl of canned dog food tonight and see who lasts the week. My money is on the Italian Greyhound.
Now, with Devin two states away, I will have some time to get our portfolios squared away.
Of course I have Jack to get ready for his new school, yes you heard me correct, we have taken Jack out of Santa Margarita for a couple of semesters. You see we, the collective we of Jack, Devin, Myself, Tony N. (Tutor), Kristin (daughter and tutor), just averaged about 35-40 hours a week to maintain a B average. We have had virtually no family time and jack has had little down time to be a kid.
We investigated a one on one high school environment for kids who are scheduled challenged due to personal or family demands (Celebrities or children of traveling executives). We explained the goal was to prepare Jack for his Junior year at Santa Margarita. SM is an extremely demanding college prep high school and despite suggestions to the contrary, they are not an all inclusive environment. They do their best, but classes and curriculum is direct to the ambitious over achiever. I know because I am not in that category, but my wife and daughter are.
Halstrom High School is a unique one on one environment with an interesting social environment as well. This will allow Jack to prepare for junior year, develop some new organizational skills, become more independent, and allow him time to do something other than homework and video games. Devin and I are already exploring some interesting travel opportutnties.
We also have a short list of 36 things to do this week, but that is down from the 36 plus what ever Devin comes up with in the daily think tank. (Shower). Oh I know, the 729 mile separation will not keep her from practicing here quickly advancing delegation skills.
Earlier today Man Child and I walked through our new building. The whole while Jack was taking notes of what we need. He is really taking this warehouse Manager thing quite seriously. Here are a couple of shots from the new place.

Jack and I enjoyed watching the original Night Of The Living Dead. After seeing him intrigued by all the Zombies in New York, I thought it only proper to introduce him to the original movie. The 1966 Classic was great appreciated by Young jack and he even knew the director's name, George Romero.
We have one more day to inform you what might happen on the market this week as we all celebrate our countries' finest, The US Veteran.
To Them
I didn't know you, perhaps did not care.
But thank God every day that you were there.
Defending us so we could complain,
Without arrest or physical pain.
So many gone, so many still here.
You all deserve a robust cheer.
And you will get a few in the next day or two.
For it is your day for us to say;
To Them.
