Twas The Night Before Voting
And all through the state,
Not a PAC checkbook empty,
Ad spending was great.
The Gov and Pres were all over the place,
In the hopes that they each could win the race.
The dems were now worried as their lead, it did slip.
And Romney was caught biting his lip.
So I sat with my stocks waiting for pain,
from the news of the inevitable new capital gains.
Bloomberg kept saying the VIX will go crazy.
My crystal ball was a heck of a lot more hazy.
Rasmussen had Romney a head by a point.
Buddy Ben bet me dinner at that Hanna's Joint.
Ohio and one is what The President needed.
Ohio and two is what Romney pleaded.
The electoral college could sure get our goat,
As it did years ago, with the Bush/Gore Vote.
Let's hope no hanging chads will be found,
But I am sure the republicans will be watching the ground.
Now that Monday market is closed,
I sit in my room with the race nose to nose.
Tomorrow will be a most definitive day,
Or so, at least, the historians will say.
Personally I believe not much will much change.
The Pres is the Pres and the Congress is strange.
Dems nor the GOP will lead us out of this mess,
A truth neither side will soon confess.
With the fiscal cliff clearly in sight,
We will be watching the results tomorrow night.
And so as we watch, red and blue, state by state,
Will we know the answer or will we all have to wait?
