Bone Broth

 In our house, we use homemade broth for the base of many dishes, including soups, stews, goulasch or even chilli. I make broth at least once a week - both meat and vegetable. This is my mom's bone broth recipe. Although obviously not for vegetarians or vegans, if you do eat meat, good quality bone broth is soothing on the stomach and can help strengthen your immune system.

Grass fed beef bones (ideally with marrow)

2 carrots

2 sticks of celery

Top part of leek 

A quarter to a half of celeriac (celery root)

Parsley

Any other root vegetables you have 

I use a crockpot but you don't have to. I like the crockpot because I don't have to keep checking it. Place all of the items in the crockpot and add boiled water. Put on high until it boils and then on low. I usually cook it for a minimum of 24 hours. After 18-20 hours, add the parsley. Let it cool, place in small dishes and freeze. Defrost as necessary.
